The Brass Band has approximately 30 members, ranging in age from mid to late teens through to retirement age, with the average age being under twenty.
The Band plays a variety of styles of music, including traditional brass band and concert music, jazz and light-hearted music, marches and competition A and B Grade music. The Band also has smaller ensembles, soloists and fanfare brass.
The Band’s programme of events includes concerts and gigs, street marches (such as the Anzac Day Parade), fanfares, concert programmes for evening events and performing at fêtes and fairs.
The Band, which restarted in 2003 after an eleven year break, has progressed from being the Tasmanian D Grade Champions in 2004 to being the Tasmanian and National B Grade Champions in 2007.
