About the Hobart City Youth Winds

The Hobart City Youth Winds (formerly the Junior Concert Band) was formed in 2004. It was initially based on the Clarence High School Concert Band (Conductor Lyall McDermott) but now draws its members from schools throughout southern Tasmania.
 
The Youth Winds competes in Tasmanian and Australian National Championships. The Youth Winds is the 2011 Australian National Junior B-Grade Concert Champion and the 2011 Tasmanian Junior B-Grade Concert Champion.
 
A residential camp is held annually during the September school holidays.
 
Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons from 2:00 – 5.00 pm at Ogilvie High School.
 
Youth Winds is conducted by Claire Reade.
