The Hobart City Youth Winds (formerly the Junior Concert Band) was formed in 2004. It was initially based on the Clarence High School Concert Band but now draws its members from schools throughout southern Tasmania.
  
A residential camp is held annually during the September school holidays.
 
Rehearsals are held on Sunday afternoons from 2 – 5pm at Ogilvie High School.
 
Youth Winds is conducted jointly by Claire McIlhenny and Lyall McDermott (currently on leave).
