About the Hobart City Swing Band

The Hobart City Swing Band, formed in 2001, comprises high-quality musicians from the Hobart area interested in big band performance.

The Band performs both classic swing music and more recent compositions, especially those of Gordon Goodwin. See Repertoire.

The Swing Band plays at private parties, weddings, festivals, dances (such as the TasSwing Balls run in Hobart by the Swing Dance Society) and community events. See Hire Us.

Entry to the Swing Band is by application or invitation as the group runs to traditional big band size.

Rehearsals are held on Friday evenings from 7:30 - 9:30 pm in the Band Room (TCA Ground, Domain).
