Five ensembles

There are five ensembles under the Hobart City Band banner:

Each ensemble is led by a specialist conductor.  Many members play in more than one ensemble.

From practice to performance

The ensembles practice regularly in preparation for concerts (held in venues such as the Town Hall, City Hall, St. David's Cathedral, Conservatorium of Music, Sir Stanley Burbury Theatre), performance at charity and community events and entry into Tasmanian and Australian National Band Championships.

The Hobart City Band Gala Performance is an annual event featuring all of the ensembles. See Calendar.

Some of the ensembles also play at private functions. See Hire Us.

In 2009 Hobart City Band Inc. released its first CD, Extreme Makeover, featuring the Brass Band and the Wind Symphony. Details.
